Madrid Weighing Up Move For Osimhen

Osimhen Transfer News 2019/2020 started with Spanish giants Real Madrid which were interested in signing Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following his impressive performances for Ligue 1 side Lille.
Osimhen has caught the eyes at Lille where he joined in the summer of 2019 from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi.

The 21-year-old has caught the attention of top clubs around Europe including Real Madrid with his performances

According to Marca, Osimhen was among the three Lille players Real Madrid were looking at- the other two are; Boubacary Soumare and Gabriel dos Santos Magalhaes.

According to the respected news hub, Real Madrid believe Osimhen will be a long-term option for their strike force and are looking to make a move for the striker in the summer.

European champions Liverpool and Barcelona are the other sides said to be interested in the Nigeria international.

Osimhen has started well at Lille where he has been entrusted as the first-choice striker.

The youngster has 10 league goals and 13 in all competitions for Les Dogues so far that season

Very early in May 2020, Telefoot claimed in a transfer news that Lille had received an offer for Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen who has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea. It is was revealed that Tottenham Hotspur were the team to offer £75m to Lille for the 21 year old forward.

Le 10 Sport reported that Liverpool were leading the race for Osimhen and on 21-year-old midfielder Boubakary Soumare, who is believed to be interesting some of the world’s biggest clubs.

However, according to Les Cahiers du Football editor Abdellah Boulma, the £75m bid, plus bonuses came from Jose Mourinho. Spurs was in the market for a new forward that summer to provide competition for Harry Kane, but the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak made them seek for cheaper options than Osimhen.

In June 2020, Napoli were reportedly close to agreeing a €100m double swoop for Lille defender Gabriel and forward Victor Osimhen.

According to French transfer expert Manu Lonjon, Napoli wanted to wrap up negotiations as soon as possible, with five-year contracts prepared for the pair.

However, he warns that whereas Gabriel – valued at €30m – is ready to accept their offer, Osimhen – valued at €70m – still needs convincing. Despite that, Alfredo Pedulla continues to maintain the forward will join the Coppa Italia winners, having agreed on personal terms a month ago.

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen landed in Naples to join Italian side Napoli in a deal reported to cost the club €70m including bonuses, in July 2020.

Osimhen was pictured after he arrived in the city of Naples from France with a private flight. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the 21-year-old will be meeting the club with his agent.
