More motivation in Nigeria as Simy Nwankwo joins the #EndSARS movement. Crotone and Super Eagles forward Simeon Nwankwo has become the second Nigeria to show support for the #EndSARS movement after scoring for his club side. This comes after Victor Osimhen held up a shirt with the message “End Police Brutality” after his goal against Atalanta.
Simeon gave Crotone an early lead in the match from the penalty spot in the 12th minute after Leonardo Bonucci conceded a penalty for a dangerous play against Arkadiusz Reca and celebrated the goal by passing in support of the ongoing call for reforms in the Nigerian Police force.
Over the last few days, series of protests have been happening across the Nigerian and the world, against the extrajudicial brutality of the Nigerian police, particularly the “Special Anti Robbery Squad”, a unit who have used their state-sanctioned powers to kidnap, abuse, sexually assault, rob and harass Nigerians for many years with no consequences. No more.
Will Simy Nwankwo joining #EndSARS movement be the last player support Nigerian’s will recieve? Stay tune as we keep you updated
